Hello and Welcome to the last May 2026 event of Winlink Wednesday for our NTX NVIS Group!
We hope all of you had a safe & happy Memorial Day holiday!
It is time to begin sending your entries. Yes, I know HF conditions have been less than ideal but we're open for input now through Wed at midnight.
No forms, no weather snapshots needed. Just send your one-line entry as usual. Example below.
Both Stations (KI7GJG) and (N4AKL) are available for entries as well as the usual CMS / RMS system.
Here is how you address your Winlink message for this event:
call sign,first name,city or town, county, state,(HF or VHF),(BAND)
Example:
N4AKL,Austin,Farmers Branch,Dallas,TX,HF,80M
Please do not use spaces between the comma and the next word.
The data is imported into a spreadsheet from a CSV file and spaces require editing each entry that contains the spaces before importing.
Use either N4AKL or KI7GJG as the Station for any of the three bands to reach either of the NTX NVIS Standalone RMS POs.
For 30M RMS PO:
N4AKL or KI7GJG for the Station Call Sign (Station ID)
10124.5 Center Frequency
10123 Dial Frequency
Use either NTXNVIS-CDM, KI7GJG or N4AKL as the TO: Address.
For 40M RMS PO:
N4AKL or KI7GJG for the Station Call Sign (Station ID)
7091.2 Center Frequency
7089.7 Dial Frequency
Use either NTXNVIS-CDM, KI7GJG or N4AKL as the TO: Address.
For 80M RMS PO:
N4AKL or KI7GJG for the Station Call Sign (Station ID)
3584.7 Center Frequency
3583.2 Dial Frequency
Use either NTXNVIS-CDM, KI7GJG or N4AKL as the TO: Address.
Send via any Mode: HF, VHF, UHF, ARDOP, Packet, Telnet, or either of our Standalone RMS Post Office stations. We encourage sending multiple entries by different Modes.
Some Winlink Wednesday events disallow Telnet but we encourage your entry by any mode.
Special NOTE:
Please ensure the message you are sending to the RMS PO is created in Winlink as a Post Office Message. If not, the message will just sit in your outbox when you connect to the RMS PO.
A Second & Special NOTE:
Messages sent incorrectly via any route other than the RMS PO's disappear and can not be recovered. Please ensure the TO: address is correct!
Use only N4AKL, KI7GJG, or NTXNVIS-CDM as the address and ensure no typos before sending.
Have fun and keep an eye on the weather as May is typically very stormy!
