May 8th ARES / Red Cross National WINLINK Exercise instructions

Instructions attached.

I have written to the ECs / DECs in Central and South Texas and Texas Gulf Coast Regions with some Texas tweeks to this plan. We will be using the same tactical addresses in Texas as we used in Winter Storm URI and in the November exercise.

So please copy TXRCAUS-DST and TXRCAUSDSTCM on your emails. For the Afternoon session please include ARCSOUTHWEST as the division clearing house.

See your ARES EC if you would like to participate in the morning session! please use option one only and I would prefer you did not use option 2. Only one per county, which is why you need to check in with your EC. Also many sections and counties have their own plan for extended exercise, so please check in with your local ARES leadership.

Texas has been the winner in participation, accuracy, and volume of response in the nation in every exercise so far. I expect we will do the same this time. But the danger is we could flood some inboxes if we are not careful!

Thanks go to the WINLINK net operators who continuously prepare us for these activities. Your efforts had us ready for Winter storm URI. You are literally life savers!

Best
