I apologize, but I have an off-topic question:
Is VARA FM 4.0.1 still good to connect to Harris County nodes? Should I download the latest? I can tune, but Winlink messages do not leave the Outbox.

Make sure when you create the message it is a “Winlink message”…. Not doing so is the most common cause of that…

Hi Carlisle, As Tom indicates, make sure you are sending as a WInlink message. (when entering a message)
Some other tips:
- yes, upgrade to the latest version of VARA FM (currently 4.2.2 - download at https://rosmodem.wordpress.com/)
- Use updated Channel Selection in session of RMS client software to determine current list of active Winlink RMS gateways
- check the Winlink packet and Vara RMS gateway status for Harris County and other districts at http://n5tw.ecpi.com/rmsstatus/
- The Harris County ARES website has been updated with Harris COunty area digital information at https://harriscountyares.org/frequencies/freq_hca_digital.pdf
