In addition to having folks get their ARES Badge, how about have a PC/Laptop available so folks can update their ARES Vault info?

I know some can do it from home, but others may need help in password recovery…

  • Please, do not use ALL CAPS…

  • This is so we know where you live in case we need to send somebody to check on you, help you, or pick you up…
  • Do not use a PO Box unless you can get to the post office with all your gear and supplies for a 72-hour deployment…
  • Oh, we will need the address to the Post Office too…

Phone numbers

  • Please use 512-555-1234 format
  • 5125551234 is hard to read/type on a phone, use hyphens
  • Do not use N/A, Retire, None… Just phone numbers…
  • We have close to 100 members that do not list ANY PHONE NUMBERS???
  • If your Work number requires an extension, use this format: 512-555-1234 Ext 1234

Email address

  • Do not use @arrl.net address as they fail
  • Use the same email address used for our Primary Email Group on Groups.io

Check boxes, Power available, and capabilities…

  • Check that all the correct ones are checked…
  • Check your affiliations…

Emergency Contact Info

  • Check that it is 100% correct

Remarks:

  • Notes to yourself, EC, DEC, SEC…
  • Last updated 19-Feb-26

Even if nothing changed, select the Update button

  • This updates the Last Updated field of the database…
  • This tells your EC, DEC, and SEC when your data was last updated…
  • Some have NEVER pressed this button since joining X-years ago…
  • If your data is over a year old, we can’t trust it…
  • Get in the habit of doing this every year before the SET…

Ask your ARES members if they’ve updated their information…
