I am in the SW area and am new to HF but would like to participate in this and other HF nets. I have tried several of the frequencies posted on ARES. Please give me the correct frequency and schedule or point me to the correct place to find it. Sorry for the hassle but I want to get these HF nets on my calendar. Thank you.

Please also consider checking in to the 7290 Traffic Net (https://www.7290trafficnet.org/) and/or the Texas Traffic Net (http://www.daytimetexastrafficnet7285.org/) using SSB, and the Texas CW Net (http://www.k6jt.com/) and/or the Texas Slow Net (http://www.atcweb.com/tsn/Texas_Slow_Net.htm) using CW depending on your capabilities, availability, and interest. I would also encourage you to check in to the Houston Local Traffic Net (HLTN), Mondays at 18:30L on the 149.94 (PL 167.9) repeater. These nets are dedicated to passing NTS traffic via radiogram. More information on the means and methods for this can be found at: http://www.arrl.org/nts-manual. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Thank you very much! This is exactly the kind of information I need. After getting my licenses, I purchased a 2 meter/70cm and also a HF radio and have spent a fair amount of time trying to make connections on the HF but the learning curve is pretty steep. The 2 meter got a bit boring once I bought the HF. It’s a great tool but isn’t fascinating in the same way. I appreciate you giving me some specific resources to pursue. It will be a huge help.
