Is there a particular reason why some people say 73’s instead of 73 ? Ive heard a few different ways but honestly just curious .

Yes. They don’t know better. Think of it in terms of Morse code:

—.. ..—

It’s symmetrical. Saying 73s is incorrect, it’s like saying goodbyes or hellos or see you laters. It’s also a pet peeve of mine :wink:.

I think it might be because 73, meaning best regards, would be spoken as 73’s in the same manner as “regards.” 73 is the correct way but its just a figure of speech when it is not used in morse code.
