Hello all,
I have been reading the comments on this topic and am going to add my $0.02 worth
I have been a Skywarn “CERTIFIED” spotter or years and even took the advance training.
I know Dan Reilly very well as he has usually taught the classes i attended.
I do believe he may be cutting back on the training he does as the last one i attended, he brought another along
that he stated he was training to and may take over some of the training load.
He has always indicated that they are very greatful for the service and reports that we as hams provide to them.
We are their eyes in the field to support and confirm what they “think” and “guess” they see on the radar.
As someone said earlier, without a call in, the NWS would not have known that there was damage.
Here is some direct contact information for the Houston NWS office that i have and use.
Website= http://weather.gov/houston
To email photos= sr-hgx.nws@noaa.gov
and lastly… SPOTTER Reports can call 800-846-1828
Hope this helps.

Mike
