What time is your ARES DMR NET and in what talkgroup the reason is I have a RACES on South Texas 31482 at 1900 hrs or 7 PM every first Friday and 3rd Friday of each month don’t want the two nets to conflict with each other that’s why I’m asking .

As far as local repeaters, go to dmrtexas.net
Click repeaters, then choose your region (if in HOU area, the Upper Gulf Coast)
As far as a HotSpot, there is no way to connect a HotSpot to a cBridge Texas Talkgroup. It is intentionally blocked to p0revent people from out of state to use Texas Talkgroups through BrandMeister, TGIF, etc.

Yes, Sir.. It is a DMR radio net.
A HotSpot wouldn’t help you in this case either, as you do not have a DMR radio to use it.
If there WAS a way to access the cBridges through a HotSpot, you could theoretically cross-mode from DStar or YSF into DMR.
But there is not.

You can get a Retevis RT3S from Amazon for $87.99 which is both vhf and uhf dmr. I have one and it works great Cypress.

If you get the RT3S I have a code plug for all of the Texas repeaters and TG that are on them. It also includes my hotspot in the code plug so if you get a hotspot you can change the frequency or set yours to the same one. You can get kits for a hot spot with a raspberry pi zero for about $89.00 or less on Amazon or eBay.

It’s not the cheapest DMR, but it’s my go-to handheld now for public service events. I use the Anytone D878UVII Plus, and it operates in both DMR and analog FM modes. It’s well-built, and it serves me well for public service events as well as DMR.
