[Owner] [stxares] How to Connect to cBridge Talkgroup 8686

Posted here for Steve KG5LAA,

Good evening. I was hoping to join the STX DMR net this evening, but I am unsure how to connect to cBridge Talkgroup 8686. I have my hotspot configured to the Brandmeister talkgroups, and I do not know how to link to the cBridge network. I am relatively new to DMR but I can tell you my hotspot is connecting to talkgroups on the Brandmeister network. My apologizes for being such a newbie.

Whatever you do, don’t fall victim to “paralysis by analysis.” Go ahead and
buy/build one and start tinkering with it. This is a learn-by-doing hobby.

No politician or scholar assured your freedoms.

Thanks for the relay, Dallas!

Hi there Steve!!

Unfortunately, 8686 (Southeast Texas Emergency Communication Group, AKA SETECG) is not reachable through Brandmeister or a Hotspot. It is only carried on certain Upper Gulf Coast repeaters through several cBridges, and can only be reached through a repeater that carries it. As you are (I believe) NW of the Capitol, there are no cBridges OR repeaters in your area that carry that TalkGroup.

If you want to see a list of all the DMR repeaters in the State, visit dmrtexas.net and click on ‘repeaters’, then select the region you wish to view.

Under each active repeater listing, it will show a grid (similar to below) that will show you what TG’s are carried:
