Hope everyone is making good progress on transitioning to Vara FM 4.0.1. Most RMS stations and users in central Texas have made the switch already. Since this version is not compatible with the previous release, upgrades should be coordinated. When it is time for you to update, the process is simple. The old version will have a note on the screen that you can click on to download the new install program. Just install it on top of your old directory and all your settings including sound card levels and selections should be preserved just fine. Attached is the latest feature update on Vara FM.
As many of you know, I maintain a website that collects status on all RMS Packet stations in Texas that have sent me information to include on this list. Below is a link to that page:
PacStat Uptime Data (ecpi.com)
Judy has updated the webpage software to include Vara FM digipeaters.

The above screenshot shows an example of N5TW-10 having an N5TW-5 digipeater for both Packet “P” and Vara FM “V”. W2MN-11 is an example that is only setup for having a Packet W2MN-5 digipeater. I have to add these in manually so let me know if you decide to run a Vara FM digipeater. I expect most stations probably won’t unless their antennas have some reach.
