Some roads are closed to local traffic only.

Kerr county is receiving assistance from the state and the federal government. They had Dan Patrick there today and they have also spoken to President Trump.
The city of San Angelo is also having the same issues but on a smaller scale.
Flood waters are headed to Canyon lake. Gov Abbott has confirmed with the Canyon Lake dam engineering team that the dam will hold once the flood waters hit the lake.
We are watching the Guadalupe river event closely all the way to the Canyon Lake.
Donations should be steered to the Red Cross for Kerrville and to the United Way for San Angelo.

TDEM is running overall point as expected.
Task force #1 & #2 are running point on the ongoing 24 hour search and rescue operations. All Texas departments are working together to handle the search and rescue and continuing evacuations.
The Texas State Guard is also involved as directed by the governor.
The Guadalupe river rose over 26’ in just two hours. This of course was not expected and not foreseen by any local weather stations.
A Disaster Declaration (State Based Disaster) was signed by the Governor that included fifteen counties (subject to additional counties being added as warranted).

I am Red Cross Duty Officer in Texas Gulf Coast Region today, we have handled 15 Missing person safety check calls from our area. One rescue call followed by a reunification early this morning. A lot of this is tied to circuit overload preventing folks from making direct contact with family members in the area.

I want to Thank Red Cross Glenn Rowan and Cal Warnecke (both Kerr County ARES members) for the hard work today at the Calvary Temple Church Reunification shelter. We set up 20 additional cots for those that may be inbound.
