Good Evening to ALL RECCWG Members and Partners,
This is to notify all users of the 60-meter/5 MHz HF interoperability channels will be used in support of FEMA Region 5 Communication Interoperability Activation:
Purpose: Interoperability Communications Due to Approaching Severe Storm
Operational Dates & Times: Wednesday 07/28 at 7 pm to Thursday 07/29 at 10 am Central Time
FEMA Net Control Station: Call Sign KF5EMA
Frequencies: FEMA / SHARES Channel 1 Primary (5330.5 khz USB) & Channel 5 Secondary (5403.5 khz USB)
Voice of Internet Radio Protocol: Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) FEMA Region 5 Talk group Channel 31673
Radio Email Platform: CISA SHARES Winlink
Beginning (today) July 28, 2021, between the hours of 1900 hours central time for disaster support and auxiliary communication interoperability between U.S. Government Stations, State, County, local government, and identified AuxComm–U.S. Amateur Radio stations. Involved stations in the communication activation are permitted primary use and will remain active until an estimated date of Friday, July 30, 2021 at 1000 hours central time. Following the activation period or release by Net Control, the operational usage for these channels is no longer required. Communication Activation is intended to provide AuxComm and central storm disaster communication between FEMA Region 5, state agencies and neighboring communities. Activation is in place for the Regional ability to effectively communicate to the state and federal agencies during an actual disaster which damages or destroys the communications infrastructure.
As a reminder, please yield to operational traffic related to FEMA Region 5 identified supported communication relay stations. Please note that FEMA Region 5 DEC and AuxComm Net Controller have been authorized FEMA FCC call-sign KF5EMA for operational usage during their operational activation period. Although the intended use for these channels is interoperability between federal government stations and licensed U.S. amateur radio stations, federal government stations are Primary users and amateurs are Secondary users.

For those stations that have CISA SHARES Radio Email Messaging, the Winlink System will be utilized for additional support as needed.
