Fall SET

I got asked this question by a ham club president, and it seems to make some sense.

For the Fall SET, is to have the exercise in a semi-FD format where hams set up for the exercise, and it is a longer duration operation.

Fall is cooler. And it would expose ham radio to the public as a"real world" situation, and not"playing around with expensive toys". Which, to me, FD has become.

Plus the clubs, scouting, and other groups could get involved. Maybe even the GMRS community

I like the fall timeframe idea.
I am hearing about a few Field Day like weekends that Clubs/Groups are doing on their own.
The only issue that I see would be that it not be in November as that is Prime Hunting in Texas.
Lots of Hams in Texas also hunt.

I agree fall is Texas whitetail deer season. October is archery season and November and December are gun season. But, I have been know to take my portable station and operate from camp during the day in Ozona, Tx.

What about a combo FD/hunt camp?

Just what a hunter wants, people talking and making noise. LOL!
