Communication Partner Update – Texas Flooding
We have been engaged in a Level 4 Disaster Relief effort covering many counties along the Texas Gulf Coast. These are the result of the almost continuous storms we have experienced since May 20th.
Disasters are categorized from 1 (e.g. Home Fire) to 7 (e.g. Hurricane Harvey). A Level 4 Response falls into the $2.5 - $5M Expense Range.
The response has included Sheltering, Feeding, and Disaster Emergency Supplies.
Impacted Counties currently include Tyler, Harris, Brazoria, Jefferson, Kleberg, Orange, and Nueces.

Sheltering topped out at around 105 evacuees most staying in Non-Congregate Shelters (aka Hotel Rooms). Currently there are in the vicinity of 70 folks still in shelter.
So far we fed about 18,000 meals and snacks.
We distributed 947 Clean up kits and 2,653 other disaster supplies.
We have helped more than 600 households.
We have roughly 114 Trained Red Cross Disaster Responders on this Disaster Relief Operation.
So at this point it looks like roughly 70 homes that are Major damage or destroyed. Purple dots are inaccessible, and will have to be assessed when flood waters recede.
While this is bad enough, Louisiana had it worse with around 1276 Major Damage and Destroyed homes. And once again Calcasieu Parish so badly mauled by HUR Laura was hit hard. And about the same number of homes (1200) with minor damage.
