Question Noel. Can you send messages using RMS Express besides packet such as ardop or the newest one called Vara Hf? The both use either Signalink or other soundcard interfaces with the software.

Wish you had Vara FM capabilities on your two meter radio so we could practice.

K5SOC is the callsign for the Texas State Races headquarters on N. Lamar in Austin – it is part of TDEM

I can do winmor and ardop I did send you a message ardop thru HF Didn’t try VARA on HF yet that’s my next project yeah I have a signallink to my HF radio but I have a kamtronics KAM plus on my VHF radio tried VARA FM but couldn’t get it to work with the KAMtronics so I can try VARC but only HF only at the moment .

Ok noel. I can do HF and Vara FM but have no one to try Vara FM with st the moment.

Let me know if you need help setting up Vara FM with the two meter radio. Kantronics won’t work with vara FM. You need a Signalink or something similar.

Ok I have a Signallink for my HF but I still need to get a signallink for 2 meter really hadn’t thought of using a signallink on 2 meters until VARA FM came along ive always used as kantronics and done PACKET for local so I need to get one for 2 meters in the future.

Yes, K5SOC is the call sign for the State Operations Center, TX RACES/TDEM

It was operational during the drill however conditions were not great for
propagation.

K5SOC-10 is the call for the RMS winlink packet and Vara FM station,
145.070 mhz.

K5SOC-10 is listed on the winlink data list and operational most of the time
with good coverage around the Austin area.
